"Black Rushin" has been replaced by a bigger boat and is now looking for a new home. She is a lively 1978 San Juan 21 MkII, excellent shape, clean bottom, fully equipped with excellent sails (jib, genoa, spinnaker, and main) and is ready to sail. All running rigging is smartly upgraded with color-coded halyards and sheets run aft to a central location in the cockpit. Main and jib sheets are purchased to make sheeting easy on the hands. Lazy-Jacks have been added to assist in main sail handling, and there is a dousing line to get down the head sail in a hurry without the need to get on the foredeck. These improvements are especially valuable for single-handed sailing or sailing with less experienced crew. She comes with a recent high performance laminated mylar mainsail in good condition, and a custom logo spinnaker sporting "Black Rushin."

Although she shows her age in some light gel coat cracking and some chips in the glass here and there, she is sea worthy and still looks quite nice. I often get compliments when I take her out. Even though the bottom has a recent anti-fouling paint-job, it's always stored on the dry and only placed in the water for the few hours or sailing. Between October and April, the boat is stored in a dry warehouse.

The interior is spartan, but clean and a comfortable and dry place for a couple seeking quick cover or camping over weekends, sleeping in the v-berth with a Lexan hatch over you for light and ventilation.

Kick-up rudder and swing keel (upgraded winch & gasket) make sailing into shallow waters easy and allow for easy trailering with the boat sitting very low. She comes with all the stuff you need to go sailing today, including a trailer, a gas outboard or electric trolling motor (buyer's choice), excellent boat cushions, main and jib sail covers and a number of PFD's of adult and children sizes. She would make a good first boat, a family boat, or a racing boat and has been inexpensive to operate and maintain. Black Rushin' has lifelines and a sturdy bow pulpit for peace of mind when working the foredeck. The stainless steel motor mount is spring-loaded to be operated with minimal effort.

The San Juan 21 continues to be a popular one-design racer and enjoys many active racing fleets across the country, including our local Club, Carlyle Sailing Association (CSA).
Everything you could wish for in sail-shape control is there: jib and genoa sheet tracks, main sail outhaul, boom vang (kicker) and boom downhaul/Cunningham, one reef point, luff tensioner on most sails, adjustable back-stay for mast-bend, telltales, wind-ex. There is a spinnaker pole, a whisker pole, and an electronic knot-meter showing you actual speed in the water.

Clean titles for boat, trailer, motor.

Thanks for re-posting this, Tom. It's my boat, and I have a few more pictures to add.
It's an excellent San Juan, ready to sail.
