If you mount a backing plate inside, make a bushing that will go into the hole with the ID the bolt size. A little sealant on the top should keep the moisture away for the rest of the season.

The San Juan 21 is again the invited Classic Plastic class at the 2012 Norm Blanchard Wooden Boat Regatta on Lake Union in Seattle WA on Sep 29-30 Lake Union is a really neat place to sail, and racing with a bunch of old Woodies is also pretty cool. While crewing on a SJ24, we had this happen to us. Two boats enter the 3 Boat length circle on port tack going down wind. Boat A is clear ahead, Boat B is just behind. Another thing to think about is a forward hull support roller. I have seen some trailers that have nothing forward under the bow. When you put the boat in, the stern lifts and the bow goes down.
